Wednesday, 19. December 2007 12:51 empolis joins Eclipse Foundation

empolis joined the Eclipse Foundation a few weeks ago. Within the Eclipse Open Source Community numerous companies, research institutions and individuals are involved with the objective of creating open and standardised development platforms. In connection with about a dozen projects, eclipse foundation members work on open and extendable platforms, tools, graphical components and many other aspects. As so-called add-in provider for Eclipse RCP, empolis is now also a member of this highly successful community.

Having recently also become a member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) marks our innovative research and development activities. We perceive ourselves as the driving force in the development of innovative products, technologies and industry standards. We already began focusing on Java on XML back in the mid 1990s. empolis played a crucial role in the development of industry standards such as Topic Maps (ISO/IEC 13250). For years, empolis has been involved in international, publicly supported research and development projects, and our customers reap the direct benefits as new core technologies are advanced and matured for real-world use. Innovative technologies find their way into specific fields of application and empolis solutions. Even beyond the scope of such projects, empolis is in close contact with eminent research institutes and universities worldwide. empolis is a partner in the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and represented on the board of trustees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS).
