empolis became a member of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in December 2007.

Through empolis' role as consortium leader in the Theseus* project, it has once again proven its commitment to web technologies and open standards. The German-Austrian W3C Office is looking forward to a very productive future", states Thomas Tikwinski, Director of the German-Austrian W3C Office.

 

empolis has focused on Java and XML industry standards since the mid-90s. empolis' Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Mario Lenz, comments: "We are looking forward to know-how and knowledge exchange with other international experts and enhancement of our strategic network in our business spectrum. Representing the entire Theseus consortium, we will actively play a role in shaping the standardization of the semantic web, ontology management or descriptive languages".
