MAN Nutzfahrzeuge, one of the leading providers in the
international commercial vehicle industry, has given empolis
the task of creating the MAN Solution Finder (SoFi) for the
commercial vehicle unit.
The system is to enable 1500 truck workshops and support staff
worldwide to perform a fast and efficient search for available
repair information.
An up-front prototype phase soon convinced MAN of the benefits
of using the empolis:Information Access Suite (e:IAS). Since
the repair information stored across various data sources is
being searched centrally in a single step, the user does not
have to start different searches but quickly gains access to
all relevant documents and tickets specific to his
requirements.
The project started beginning of November 2007. The system is
due to go live already at the end of January. Initially
available in five languages, the system will gradually be
extended to 25 languages for a global operation.
