proALPHA expands ERP+ portfolio with intelligent service, knowledge and content management products from the cloud


Weilerbach, 27 June 2022 – proALPHA, one of the leading providers of ERP+ software for mid-market companies, has acquired the Empolis Group, thereby responding to a market that has been shifting toward service-oriented and databased business models. Empolis offers its customers AI-based products for service, knowledge and content management. The intelligent service management solutions by Empolis are an excellent supplement to proALPHA’s ERP+ portfolio for mid-sized enterprises from the discrete manufacturing industry. Empolis will continue to act on the market as a legally independent unit within the proALPHA Group. The Empolis products will be deeply integrated into the proALPHA ERP+ portfolio and at the same time continue to be used in combination with thirdparty systems. The acquisition is subject to the approval of antitrust and other authorities.

Headquartered in Kaiserslautern, Empolis offers cloud-based and AI-assisted software products for intelligent decision support that can be used to analyze and intelligently process all information involved in a business process. Around 500 Empolis installations
exist around the world, and nearly 700,000 professional users rely on Empolis solutions on a daily basis to serve approximately 40 million end customers.

Among its customers are renowned companies like ABB, BMW, Bosch, Carl Zeiss Microscopy, Homag, Koenig & Bauer, Kuka, MAN Energy Solutions and Vodafone. Empolis is an associate of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), a member of the technology initiative SmartFactory KL e.V., and a member of the Science and Innovation Alliance Kaiserslautern (SIAK) advisory board.
